"That useless institution is more useless than my useless institution..."

You know, in Kenya there is such an amazing culture of responsibilty denial that its actually amazing there's any work done at all. I mean this group thinks that other group is messing up and the blame just goes round in circles while we sit and sigh....anyway there's a simple answer...its the whole bunch...Executive, judiciary, Parliament (my God parliament.... hats off), Civil Society and the media.

The Executive.

I dont know how much more anyone in kenya can criticise the country's executive arm of government. From infighting to laziness, corruption, ineptitude and just plain greed. Greed for power, money, influence...name it they've got it. Kenya is in a fix because deep down we all know our next president is one of these guys....soooooo are we in trouble or are we in trouble....????

The judiciary.

Yeah i really dont need to say too much about these clowns...instead ill give a little case-in-question-type thing. Hon. James Orengo, MP had an election petition after losing his seat in 2002....that case was heard in 2008, 6 years late and 1 year after he had recovered it anyway. wow...now thats work....

Parliament

There is no insitution in this whole country that has disappointed anyone like these hyenas. Kenya's parliament is not only a den of lazy people but a dangerous tense source of cash for society's most tribal and manipulative individuals. Before the 2007 election, there was much talk of how 'these old guys should go and we vijana (youngsters) should rule'....but have you seen just how messed up the young guys are? Tribal statements and statements of tribal alliances have really worried me about the chance of a tribalist free future.....Not only are they non-tax payers, but they also have no interest in actual visible work.....at least for the most part...Looks to me like theses old guys arent that bad after all...that's if the young guys are a yard-stick. if the rest of the world is that yard-stick, then WE ARE IN TROUBLE......

Civil Society

Aside from NCCK , these guys constitute Kenya's largest group of organised hypocrites. Drive a big car, live in a big house, provoke government, get funding.....life goes on. No one elected you....no one wants you...no one is served by you. Infact, you aren't really civil society are you? there was once a time when civil society stood for something...in th 90s...when they fought for reform, heck when they fough for anything!!!Now, they fight against anything that will get them airtime. Whether its right or wrong....whether they have support or not....Like I said, no one elected you so you cant say you represent ANYONE. Not anymore anyway....As for NCCK, you guys are a bunch of unelected, unrepresentative, boardroom wannabe politicians, who voted on government side anyway and were a very effective propaganda tool in the run up to both the referendum and the general election so zip it. Holy men my foot.....

The media

Inspite of the over-sexed CEOs, the brothel work places and the fake accents, the media is not all bad. At least not yet. They actually bring........wait for it.....wait for it....news....tadaaa! How can the media improve? Quit the bias....its that simple. Dont investigate anything at all...you dont have the tools or the capacity, or glucose apparently because you're just plain lazy. I was amazed when Robert Nangila (you know the dude who has that accent that goes from British to American and even Italian On Sundays and scattered days of the week) claimed to have investigated the whole of Africa, and Arabia to find out about a supposedly corrupt company, in a WEEK! I thought that was pretty amazing. He should work for USA's secret service.....he'd find Osama in a month.....tops.Then there is the case of the Immigration minister saying IDs will be given to Kenyans starting form 12 yrs of age. According to the media, this must therefore mean that you'll be allowed to drink and drive from the age of 12. Like as if we attain maturity from IDs. I thought that was just DUMB. The idea was to give any mobile Kenyan a form of identification in case of disaster, crime etc but hey why report the right thing when the wrong one is so much sweeter....Then there was the statement by Hon. Fahra Maalim MP, SNA2 (Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, yeah you know that dude who's actually the country's third most powerful and no one knows it....After orezzo and the SNA1), which went something like "MPs shouldnt pay tax.....like countries in the larger region but their allowances should be reduced to a total maximum of 500,000 inculding salaries, like everybody else in the larger region as well"....One media house reported that he selfishly refused to pay tax while another media house reported that he selflessly wanted a reduction in salaries. Wow......thats just amazing....Stop serving your political ends and stop attending 1,000,000 per plate lunches...yeah Im talking to you.

PEACE to Kenya....LOVE to all people.

i just quit my plush, ministerial job......am I a hero now too?

For those of you who dont know what im tryng to talk about and who Im calling out....well let me first introduce myself...Im young and black. Now that that's over with, lets get ourselves into the murk that is kenya's political scene...Up and down we've gone, see-saw style, through our political hisory, so you would think we've learnt a thing or two....we'll we have. At least some of us....

The most recent major political event relating to Kenya is the resignation of a once-thought hardliner, from our dearest demi-god's demi-angelic cabinet. That once-hardliner: Hon. Martha Karua MP.Gi....something.

I guess most of you are cheering her right now for being a tough nut and doing what the system finds blasphemous. As did I....then I woke up and thought: Wait, we had a botched election not too long ago....and its botched results were massively supported by....ummmmmm....wait I seem to forget....Charity Ngilu....NO,ummmmm Michelle Obama......NO! Oh yeah...Martha Karua....Who then told ANY opponent or anyone with a problem with the results to "go to court...we have a system in place".

Now now now...is it heroic to support a system, say the courts work, then quit because the method of appointing judges (a court process) is flawed? Is it only flawed?Would she have rsigned if she didnt want the presidency? Before y'all begin to throw darts...just think about this....take out all emotion and keep only reason...you get a system in place in a largely suspicious way and then get upset when that same sytem bites you....?Wow I wish we could all get away with that..

Martha, yes what you did a couple days ago was heroic. Honestly it was. I personally feel that there is a grand succession scheme within your former party, PNU, that is taking even the executive away from focus. I feel the Hon. Prime Minister should do the same because if your work is to supervise and co-ordinate government functions, and everytime you give an order, someone else gives another and it is that other order that's followed, then you should realise that your position IS indeed untenable and therefore a waste of public money...The people, rather than the system should get to choose their leaders....power inheritance is one thing that some people don't seem to understand, only happens in monarchies... and for that I give you my applause. Keep THAT up and I might actually begin to like you.

But in 2007, regardless of which side of the election you fell, everyone who voted and watched or listened to tallying, knows that there was a problem with that election. Some didn't care that it was wrong, some knew and loved it, other knew and regretted voting, some lost, some won....some.....DIED!Maybe if you'd have spoken up then....even just to say...'stop,listen and think'...slowed down a bit and listened to opposition, maybe just maybe....YOU'D HAVE BEEN A REAL HERO!We are waiting....I am waiting, there will be another election...we'll be watching. PEACE to Kenya....LOVE to all people.
